Hedy Hinterschott is a student at the University of San Francisco High School who is being trained by her parents to become an assassin. She is the only female in her family to be born in 500 years, and her parents have kept this a secret from her. When she meets Dave Corso, a fellow student, she is intrigued. However, her life takes a dramatic turn when she is abducted and must confront an unforeseen menace. Despite the dark subject matter, the story is lighthearted and centers around the Hinterschott household. Hedy is not always likeable, but she is never cruel and proves to be bright and capable. As the story progresses, the suspense builds and a villain is revealed. This novel could easily be the first in a series that readers would be sure to enjoy.
